Welcome new wildcats!

Welcome new players to the Eagan High School Girls Soccer program! We are a family and we look forward to growing that family with new student athletes every year.

We hope to make the process of entering the program as smooth as possibly for players and their families. Below you will find information about tryouts and the season. Go Eagan!

FAQs

1. How many teams are formed at EHS?

Number of teams is dependent on the pool of players each year but typically we make four teams:
• Varsity
• Junior Varsity
• B-team
• Freshman

2. Whasteps do we take before tryouts?

• Parents of interested players are encouraged to attend the Spring Booster meeting to learn more about the program and Fall 2023 season
• Register for the season using MyPaymentsPlus
• Submit a current Sport Physical
• We encourage interested players to attend Pre-tryout Summer Camps offered on the district 196-community education program website as well as Captain's Practices

3. Are there ever cuts coming out of tryouts?

The high school girls soccer program may be in a position where we will have to cut players from the program based on the number of participants we have trying out. The variation in number of players on each team is determined by number of players trying out and where the coaches see a natural cut-off for each team. Please remember that the teams are picked on the combination of talent and position. In the case that a player does not make a team, the registration fee is refunded by the high school.

4. How long is the season?

Following tryouts each team will immediately begin practices and games quickly follow. Regular season play wraps up early October and Varsity then starts post-season play.

5. When are  practices?

Daily practices take place directly after school. You will be invited to a TeamSnap with your full schedule.  Players are expected to attend every day and have shin guards, cleats and other necessary soccer apparel.

6. Is there a booster club for the high school girl’s soccer program?

Yes, the girl’s soccer program does have a booster club. The booster club is designed to support the coaching staff and the teams within the high school program. The booster club board decides on the budget for the year and facilitates events and activities during the season. Everyone is invited to attend booster club meetings.

7. What do we get for our booster club fee?

The booster club works hard each year to ensure all players benefit from booster club fees. Some common uses for booster money collected are:
• New and up-to-date uniforms. The program orders new uniforms almost every year and the previous set of uniforms is handed down to another team from the varsity.
• T-Shirts at the start of season
• Game socks
• Soccer Balls
• Practice equipment
• T-Shirts for the ball girls for varsity games
• Practice fields and stadium field enhancements
