The Mission of the EAGAN TRAINED Strength and Speed program is to assist every student/athlete and team at Eagan High School with the development of their mental and physical potential. This will be a program developed in efforts to minimize athletic injuries, enhance athletic performance, and improve school and team pride.

EAGAN TRAINED is a year round program that will focus on developing the total athlete by providing balance for the multi-sport athlete through speed development, agility, and loaded equipment. The goal of EAGAN TRAINED is to start with a base for each athlete as they enter middle school (6-8). All new athletes will start in "BLOCK 0" with a focus on technique, and eventually progress into LOADS as they show mastery in technique. By focusing on the total athlete at a starting point, we will help build more confident athletes in the weightroom and in competition.
RECORD-RANK-PUBLISH- EAGAN TRAINED will focus on creating fast athletes through drills that focus on form, first step quickness, acceleration, deceleration, and the ability to change directions. SPEED is the great equalizer in sports! We want our athletes to have the upper edge when it comes to speed. Athletes are motivated by competing. If they aren't competing in practice they will go through the motions. On speed days we create competition through RECORDING-RANKING-and PUBLISHING times. EXAMPLE of SPEED DAYS: Skips, High Knees, Form, Cycles, Jumps, Bounding, Lunges, Starts, and TIMED SPRINTS (40's, Build Ups, 10 yard Flies, 30's, and 60's)
CAT DRILLS-APEX Predators-Agility-Power-Explosion. EAGAN TRAINED will focus on creating agile athletes through drills that focus on change of directions, coordination, rhythm, force absorption, jumps, and balance. We want our athletes to have the upper edge when it comes to agility. An example of an X-Factor Day: Cat Jumps, Depth Jumps, Lunge Series, Toe Pops, Booms, and Assisted Plyometrics.
EAGAN TRAINED will focus on the Five Core lifts (Front Squat, Back Squat, Power Cleans/Cleans, Deadlift and Bench) of strength and power training. We will focus on developing the athlete through multi joint, ground based movements by a having a focus on power and explosion. Our main focus will be on safety and technique. All athletes will be tested for MAX strength to determine loads before, during and at the end of the program. Technique will not be compromised for heavy loads. EXAMPLE of CAT POWER DAYS: PVC warm up, Racks, Aux. Lifts, and Stability.
The use of technology in the weightroom is an essential tool to increase interest, strength, and accountability in the weightroom. EAGAN TRAINED uses the PLT4M APP. This is a platform that gets your team on the same page when it comes to commitment, accountability, progress, and developing a winning mentality in the off season. Coaches will be able to create and use PLT4M programs, manage schedules, manage maxes, and establish competition year round.
